Summary
Seeking a compassionate, experienced Private Highly Skilled Caregiver to provide individualized, professional in‑home and facility care for older adults and medically complex clients. Caregivers work directly under private contracts with clients and coordinate with Healing Space Marin care managers as needed.
Compensation & Terms
Competitive hourly or per-shift rates based on experience, certifications, and client needs.
Travel reimbursement or mileage for client-related travel as negotiated.
Private-contract status: scheduling, scope, and payment arranged directly with client (Healing Space Marin can facilitate introductions and coordinate care plans).
Mandatory: submission of copies of certifications, proof of eligibility to work, and three references prior to placement.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance.
Administer and document medications and follow medication schedules per care plan.
Perform skilled caregiving tasks within caregiver scope (wound care basics, transfers with safe lifting techniques, bowel/bladder care, catheter/ostomy support if trained and delegated).
Monitor and report changes in condition to client family and care manager; follow emergency protocols.
Assist with meal preparation, feeding support, and dietary plan adherence.
Support activities of daily living and meaningful engagement (companionship, cognitive stimulation, outings).
Maintain a safe, clean environment; light housekeeping related to client care.
Complete accurate visit notes, care logs, and time records.
Respect client privacy, dignity, and cultural preferences; maintain professional boundaries.
Coordinate with visiting nurses, therapists, and facility staff as required.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years paid caregiving experience working with older adults and medically complex clients in home and facility settings.
Proven track record of reliability, professionalism, and compassionate care.
Three professional work references (supervisors, case managers, or client families) with contact details.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Valid CA driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred for community outings and errands.
Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and drug screening where required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language skills a plus.
Ability to lift and assist per safe-lift protocols and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
Preferred / Additional Certifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or equivalent preferred.
Additional training in dementia care, palliative care, medication administration, or mobility support preferred.
